Letter from Biomax

Dear customers and friends,

The first months of 2021 are over and although COVID-19 still affects all of our daily lives, a lot of new things have happened at Biomax Informatics in the meantime.

Our appointment as an official partner of the Human Brain Project as well as our progress in the international research project SysMed-COPD are again a great recognition of our expertise for knowledge management solutions in the life science sector.

With the launch of AILANI 2.0, we have modernized and further developed our semantic search platform and for NICARA we presented a special use case for neurodegenerative diseases to a broad audience at BioEurope Spring.

Our product development is constantly progressing and we will be happy to show you how you can use our products to your advantage at any time.

RESEARCH

Partner of Human Brain Project

As Biomax recently announced will NeuroXM become integral part of EBRAINS, the infrastructure of the Human Brain Project – the largest and today’s most influential European brain science project funded with one billion Euros. Based on the NeuroXM Brain Science Suite, the experts from Biomax are developing a novel knowledge management and database solution NeuroCONNECT to manage future connectome datasets in EBRAINS and allow for novel biomarker research based on the connectome. This will eventually lead to a better understanding and novel therapy targets for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's dementia. Read more…

Member of INCF network

To strengthen its position as a leading provider of knowledge management solutions for brain science, Biomax recently joined the global INCF consortium as industrial partner contributing to the development of scientific standards in neuroscience and neuroimaging. Read more…

SysMed-COPD

Another international research project SysMed-COPD with the participation of Biomax uses the example of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (often called "smoker's lung") to show how artificial intelligence can help disseminate expert knowledge and provide scientifically sound recommendations for physicians. As part of this project, a group of researchers is using artificial intelligence to analyze patient data, provide assistance and better prepare physicians for individual therapy design for this lung disease in the future. On April 29, 2021, Biomax will host a webinar on AILANI 2.0 and show participants the benefits of this semantic search platform in a live demo. Register now…

Connectome-derived biomarkers for clinical trials

At BioEurope Spring in February 2021, Biomax presented NICARA for identifying connectome-based biomarkers for clinical trials. With NICARA Biomax offers a sophisticated multimodal connectome analysis of the brain network as a very economical and user-friendly cloud solution with minimal footprint. NICARA runs an automated neuroimaging pipeline for morphometry and DTI tractography using the most advanced open-source tools, which have already been validated in hundreds of peer-to-peer publications and recently recommended as the preferred neuroimaging method for Alzheimer's drug development. Read more…

Monitoring connectomes in brain tumor patients

During ASNR 2021, the 59th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Neuroradiology, May 22-26, 2021, Biomax neuroimaging experts will again present NICARA to a broad audience specializing in the field of neuroradiology, and explain how NICARA can help monitor connectomes in brain tumor patients.
