BIOMAX SYSTEMS MEDICINE PROJECTS DRIVE PARADIGM SHIFT
In the next issue of Current Opinion in Systems Biology, Biomax Head of Project Management, Dr. Dieter Maier, reviews the impact of Systems Medicine on clinical practice and explores some of the gaps and barriers that still remain.
His review article, "Applying Systems Medicine in the Clinic," summarizes and analyzes the recent literature — and also highlights some of the wisdom gained in the 10 public Systems Medicine projects Biomax has participated in over the last dozen years. Dr. Maier led many of the knowledge management work packages in these projects, which include SYS-Stomach, PREPARE and METSY. With an exciting vision of healthcare in the future, the article explores how health systems will need to adapt to realize the full potential of Systems Medicine in daily practice.
