CLINICS USE BIOMAX SOFTWARE TO CLUSTER COPD REHABILITATION RESPONSES
|
|
Scientists at CIRO+ Expertise Centre for Chronic Organ Failure and Biomax data mining subsidiary, Viscovery, have published a study assessing data on 2068 chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients before and after a 40-session pulmonary rehabilitation program. The patients’ data were managed in the BioXM Knowledge Management Platform and ordered by their overall similarity concerning their multidimensional response profiles using the Viscovery Data Mining Suite. BIOMAX, SYNERGY-COPD MAKE NOVEL CHAINRANK METHOD FREELY AVAILABLE

|
As part of the European Union’s FP7 Synergy-COPD project, scientists at Biomax, the Hospital Clínic-Institut d'Investigacions Biomediques August Pi i Sunyer and the University of Barcelona have published details of a new method, ChainRank, in the open access journal BMC Bioinformatics. The ChainRank method gives users a better way to create and prioritize context-specific sub-networks (e.g., for a disease or a tissue) in complex biological networks. It searches and ranks interaction chains that link user-defined points of interest in the overall network (chains of knowledge). The method is freely available. FROM SYSTEMS MEDICINE TO PERSONALISED HEALTH
|
|
At the EMBL Stanford Conference on Personalised Health, Biomax presented the BioXM Knowledge Management system’s ability to integrate multi-level, disease-specific knowledge models with clinical and experimental data as a starting point for better understanding of disease, computational modeling, deep data mining analysis and predictive personalized medicine. The presentation showcased the successful use of the BioXM Knowledge Management at the CIRO+ Expertise Centre for Chronic Organ Failure and in multiple European systems medicine projects on respiratory disease. KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT FOR PATENTS
|

Biomax presented the BioXM approach to knowledge management of patent information at the European Patent Organization (EPO) Patent Information Conference. The BioXM system is well suited to enrich patent information through its ability to integrate any data source, build and incorporate any scientific data model and integrate into any existing infrastructure with its open architecture.
In the BioXM environment, patent information is put in the context of any additional data sources in the life science domain and can be queried and enriched by text searches and text-mining, sequence searches and analysis, chemical structure searches, and any other third-party tool.
