CASE STUDY: PATIENT STRATIFICATION AND COPD
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a major global health concern causing considerable morbidity and mortality. Biomax has been working with the Center of Expertise for Chronic Organ Failure, in Horn, The Netherlands to develop and apply a systems medicine approach to developing therapeutic solutions for patients leading to a higher level of patient care as well as reduced healthcare-associated costs. Biomax released version 5.0 of the BioXM™ Knowledge Management Environment, its flagship enterprise platform for semantic data integration. New features for the internationalization of BioXM-built solutions, transparent handling of time zones and physical units further strengthen the capabilities of the system as an ideal collaborative platform serving multiple geographical sites. Biomax is the informatics partner in a new EU project, METSY, and will invest nearly 1 million Euro to produce a “semantic network of psychosis-specific knowledge sources about brain structure and function,” says Dr. Dieter Maier, Biomax’s head of project management. Read the press release.
